Meet the Team Behind Hedgeway

We are a family-run business led by Lewis Harris, and between us we have got over 30 years of combined experience in the paving and landscaping trade. That is a lot of driveways, patios and garden transformations!

We work with both residential homeowners and commercial clients, from a new block paving driveway for your house to roadways and parking lots for businesses. No job is too big or too small for us.

What matters most to us is doing the job right and making sure you are happy with the result. From the first consultation through to completion, we are with you every step of the way.

How much does a new driveway cost in Preston?
Every driveway is different, so the honest answer is "it depends". Size, material, ground condition, drainage and access all play a part. The best way to get a real number is to let us come out and have a look. We will give you a free written quote with no obligation and no hard sell.
What areas do you cover?
We are based in Preston and cover Fulwood, Penwortham, Leyland, Chorley, Blackburn and the rest of Lancashire. If you are a little further out, give us a ring anyway, we probably still come to you.
How long does a typical driveway or patio take?
Most patios take 3 to 5 days. A standard driveway is usually 4 to 7 days depending on size and prep. We will give you a clear timeline before we start, and if the weather plays ball, we stick to it.
Do I need to be home while you are working?
No, not at all. Plenty of our customers are at work during the day and we just crack on. We will always let you know what we are doing and send photos of progress if you are away.
What materials do you work with?
We work with Indian stone (Kandla Grey is a popular one), block paving in all colours including charcoal, resin-bound surfaces, tarmac, concrete, composite decking in slate grey and natural finishes, timber and fencing materials. If you have seen something you like, show us a photo and we will work out how to make it happen.
Do you handle drainage and prep work?
Yes, always. Getting the base right is what makes the difference between a driveway that lasts 20 years and one that cracks in 2. We dig out, put down the right sub-base, handle drainage, and make sure water flows away from your house, not towards it.
Can you do the whole garden, not just paving?
Yes. We do full garden transformations including patios, fencing, decking, paths, lawns, and planting areas. If you want the whole thing done in one go, we are your team. Have a look at our Recent Projects section for examples.
How do I get a quote started?
Easiest way is to ring us on 07480 748776 or send a WhatsApp. If you prefer, fill in the form at the bottom of this page. Tell us roughly what you are after and where you are, and we will get back to you, usually the same day.
Do you take a deposit?
For most jobs we only ask for payment once materials have been delivered and work has started, and we settle up at the end. For larger landscaping projects we may take a staged payment schedule, but we will always agree this with you upfront. No surprises.
What if I am not happy with something?
Then we fix it. Simple as that. We do not walk away from a job until the customer is happy. Have a read of our reviews, that is how we have always worked.
